What is Restorative Dental Care?
Restorative dental care includes any procedure used to help restore the normal function and appearance of your smile.
Repairing structural problems such as damaged or missing teeth, our dentists can help restore your smile and your oral health.
Depending on your specific issue, our dentists at Cornerstone Dental Group and Civic Dental will determine the right restorative treatment option for your smile.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that functions like a natural tooth root. Implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth or many. The implant is surgically placed into the jaw bone and then bonds with the natural bone to serve as an anchor for a tooth replacement.
Same-Day Restorations
Using CEREC® technology, allows our dentists to create and place porcelain crowns, inlays and onlays in a single dental appointment to help restore your smile, no impressions or temporaries required.
Endodontic Therapy (Root Canals)
A root canal is a procedure that involves the removal of diseased blood vessels, nerves and tissues from the interior of a tooth. By removing the decay and bacteria, your dentist can help preserve a tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth. These custom-made restorations are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of your teeth and bite.
Dental Fillings
At Cornerstone Dental Group and Civic Dental, we use composite (tooth-coloured) fillings to repair a cavity or tooth damage, like a crack. These fillings are less noticeable than traditional silver fillings, can withstand moderate pressure from chewing, and can be used on front or back teeth.
Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are tooth-coloured porcelain fillings used to repair cavities when damage is too extensive to be repaired with a standard dental filling. These restorations are custom-made in a dental laboratory and then permanently cemented to the damaged tooth as a single piece.
Full & Partial Dentures
Dentures are artificial teeth used to replace one missing tooth or several in a row (partial dentures), or a whole jaw of missing teeth (full dentures). Full and partial dentures allow patients with missing teeth to maintain their face structure and talk and eat properly.
Periodontal (Gum) Therapy
Gum disease is an infection of the tissues of the mouth, including the gums and periodontal ligament. At Cornerstone Dental Group and Civic Dental our dentists offer surgical and non-surgical gum therapies to treat periodontal disease and restore your oral health.
